Hi-Phone and OS startup

   Hi,
why the hi-phone must be connected to the USB port on my computer at startup to be recognized by the computer? If starting the computer is done without the Hi-phone to be  connected to the USB port it's not recognized by the system and i must reboot my computer.
is there any soultion for this problem ? thanks 
NB: my OS is XP
