Unfortunately, I cannot get it towork. HS has been less than helpful. Many of the fields and options in their assortedSetup screens seem to conflict or make no sense (at least to me). My mainproblems at this juncture are these:

1)    1) Inspite of configuring CID to output on each ring, no Caller ID is announced.

2)   2) WhileI can get HS/Way2Call to issue a TTS message to the Caller on pick up, I cannotget HS/Way2Call to play a custom tone wav file to indicate when the Callershould start his/her message.

The default input device is handset.

You should change the input device to headset

It can be done either by coding the TAPI command, or just by using the Way2call TSP setup

It can be found at start menu >> programs >>> Way2call multiple Hi-Phone devices >>> way2call TAPI setup

Chose a device

Configure

Check the box – Use headset by default

I thought that it can’t be done; cause the Hi-Phone uses its own headset port.

It’s not related to the Hi-Phone switching mode, cause the switching modes are just a way to route the voice within the Hi-Phone system.

But both Hi-Phone and the USB headset may be presented as wave devices in the PC, so maybe just by writing a small application that routes the audio in a differently way may work.

Take the Hi-Phone playback, and route to the USB headset recording, and the Hi-Phone recording device to the USB headset playback.

You may want to use a buffer for both sides, which may cause a delay, but up to 100ms its should be fine.

If it would work for you, I would appreciate to receive the code. :-)

I am currently developing a Voice Comms System within Delphi and one of its main features is the ability to dial out from the Delphi application over a phone line to an external phone. Having done some initial investigation, I believe I require a modem that will act as a sound card on the PC so that I can handle the output from the application (app->modem->phone line) and the input to the application (phone line->modem->app).

Can anyone advise if the above 'sounds' possible? If any more information is required then please ask away.

If you can connect a fax or a voice modem to this line or extension, you can connect the Hi-Phone as well.

I wouldn’t connect the device to a digital line, cause the interface is different, and can damage the device.

Check if you can dial without waiting for a dial tone.

What if the line is not analog?  I added the outgoing extension in Phone/Modem Options to dial a 9 and I still get "No dial Tone" when running the tests.  I have contact the people who installed their telephone system to get more details and see if they have an idea, but if anyone here has any other ideas of what to try, I would appretiate it.
